Kobe Bryant, whose father was NBA player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, went straight from high school to professional basketball in 1996, and had an impressive rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He won the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk, and in his second season, he was voted a starter for the All-Star Game, becoming the youngest All-Star in NBA history. He was also the youngest All-Star in history to be voted to a starting spot in the Western Conference lineup. He was 19 years old. |
